About
Nature
Discovery : Cape Mountain Discovery Tours
Brain Pickering, together with Western Cape Nature
Conservation, has developed a new way for all
to experience this wonder of the world. (Hiking on wheels
) with specially adapted (ATVs) Quad
bikes with low
noise exhaust systems and low impact tyres These sturdy
Atv/Quad
Bike machines have been selected to ride trails
with comfort and safety, it was decided that; for first
time riders to be user friendly with a semi automatic
transmission and suspension that would be safe on longer
Atv/Quad
Bike trails.
The Atv/Quad
Bike trails took a long time to plan and map
out to cause minimum impact on the environment, while
providing the ultimate concept of reaching areas of pristine
scenery, rare plants, and Historical sites with ease for
most family riders while providing a memorable adventure
at the same time. With limited small groups, a personalised
approach is taken with high quality care and attention
to detail. As a result many people return for additional
Atv/Quad
Bike trails with built in skills levels according
to experience. Included are short walks and interesting
discussions.
Nature
Discovery, the Location
Situated on the western slopes of the Worlds First Biosphere
Reserve the Kogelberg
a unique Biosphere
home to some of the rarest plants on earth.
We are only 70 km from Cape Towns Waterfront on the Whale
Route and at the start of the Famous Garden Route.!!!!!
We are on the whale watching route, at the start of the
South Africa's famous Garden Route. The Elgin Valley is
also half way to the very popular, seaside Town of Hermanus
and also en route to the world famous Shark diving region
of Gansbaai & Kelinbaai.
Biosphere Reserve: The Kogelberg
was the first Biosphere
to be registered in Southern Africa. It is without doubt
one of the richest floral regions in the world. With some
of the most spectacular mountain and valley scenery on
Earth this is a fascinating eco system, one that will
both inspire and amaze all those who visit us.
The quad bike, motorcycle trails penetrate deep into this
pristine wilderness opening up a whole new world for the
adventure traveler and wildlife enthusiast.
Families, groups of friends, overseas visitors and locals
will find this eco adventure not only educational and
stimulating but also a challenge that can be shared together.
We also cater for small corporate groups of management
personnel as this is an ideal location for team building.
The quad biking trips are designed to be fun and relaxing.
You will find a connection with yourself, with nature
and with the rest of the group.
Environmental
Impact:
Our focus is on the Cape Town natural environment and
not on off road racing! Our off road trails appeal to
riders of different levels of skill, from entry level
to skilled riders, and we always ride responsibly, with
minimal impact on ecologically sensitive areas of Cape
Town. We stay on existing tracks which can sustain continuous
use.
Brian Pickering's intention is to provide a day out or
two for those who seek real mental relaxation,
physical exercise and beautiful scenery that can and often
includes the whole family.
The Nature
Discovery concept is a unique way to get in
touch with Mother Nature whose finest Floral Display,
Scenic Splendour and best kept secret is right at your
Doorstep.
Look Forward to meeting you.
